Awards & Certificates
Yes, there are individual and school level prizes to reward and celebrate various aspects of student's abilities. The major categories are as below:
1. North Star School of Excellence- Awarded to the Top 10% of Schools for the school year in each country, recognizing collective excellence.
2. Distinction Medals- Awarded to the Top 10% of Students (School Track) for the school year, based on best 3 contest scores during the year.
3. The North Star Grit Honour Roll- students must complete 10+ personalized practice questions per week for at least 12 weeks, maintain an average accuracy of 50% or higher and score in the Top 50th Percentile (or higher) on an official North Star Contest
As a student participating in North Star, you can download certificates of participation (no ranking) and achievement (with ranking) for all individual contests and for the overarching North Star Cup (counts the best 3 out of 6 contests). Please note, you cannot print or download certificates, or view your results on a Contest Day, you will have to wait for the contest to be finished.
Individual North Star Contest Certificates:
1. Sign in as a Student with your name and Access Code
2. On the Student Dashboard, scroll down to the 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 section, and click on ‘Certificate’ for individual contests.
3. Then click on 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞
Grit Medal is based on regular practice using the contest platform.
North Star School of Excellence Plaque is awarded for each grade based on the performance of top 5 students of the school in that grade. The top 10% of the schools in any country are eligible for the award in countries where at least 10 schools have participated in the contests.
