    Re-run of Past Contests

Yes! The School Contests feature lets you assign any past North Star contest as a timed practice session for your class. Here's how it works and what your students will experience. 𝐒𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 From your School Coordinator Dashboard, click the School Contests tab. You'll see a list of any contests you've already assigned, along with their status (Upcoming, Live, or Completed). To assign a new one, click Assign a Past Contest. You'll be asked to select a grade, choose from the list of past contests available for that grade, and set a start and end time. All times are displayed in your local timezone so there's no guesswork about when the contest will open for students. Once you click Assign to Class, the contest will appear in your students' dashboards automatically — they don't need to do anything special to find it. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐞 The replay contest appears in students' dashboards exactly like a regular upcoming contest — with the contest name, grade level, start time, and duration displayed. Students can only open and begin the contest once the start time you set has passed, and they must complete it before the end time. The experience of taking the contest is identical to the real thing: same questions, same timer, same interface. 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 After a student submits, they'll see their score along with an indicative rank — this shows approximately where their score would have placed them among all the students who participated in the original contest. This is intended as a learning benchmark, not an official result. School-level rankings are not shown for replay contests, since those are reserved for students who participate in the actual scheduled contest. 𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 Replay contests do not generate participation certificates. You can edit the time window or selected contest at any point before the contest ends, and delete it entirely if needed. If you need to make changes after students have started, contact your North Star administrator for assistance.
