North Star Contests support bulk roster upload where you can add you Excel sheet with Student's first names (required), middle and last names (optional) along with grades. Please make sure that student's firstname is a single word and there is no space in student's first name when you upload the file. The list will be reviewed by our team and access codes will be issued within one business day. This process is expedited when the contests are live.
North Star supports both manual and bulk upload of students from the School Coordinator's screen shown below. As a school coordinator, you can upload a roster with each student's First name (single word without space), middle name (optional), last name (optional), grade and section (optional). Or you may add students manually using the option to 'Add students manually'.
Access codes are sent once our team reviews the roster and make sure that they meet our data policy. It takes about one business day for us to issue the access codes for roster/Excel upload. If you have experienced delays or need to expedite, please email us at admin@northstartests.com
Currently we don't support viewing of contests by school coordinators. Contests can only be viewed by students when they are live, after the students login with their access codes.
Students can access the portal by logging in (https://northstartests.com/login) by selecting Student Login, using their access code, grade and first name. Once they login, they can do the following:
1. Take live contests when a contest is live
2. Practice using the Practice Gym
When a contest is not live, students can use the Practice Gym to sharpen their math skills and prepare for upcoming contests. Here's how they can see the practice gym after they login:
3. Review past contest results
4. View rankings and performance details
5. Download participation certificates
We are working on a feature that will allow student information (name and grade) to roll forward to the next grade level with a few clicks. This feature will be live by end of school year 2025-26.
