    Access Codes

An access code is a 10-character code composed on numbers and letters (e.g. ABCD123456). Each student needs an access code to participate in the year’s contests, and they will use the same access code for each contest. Students typically get their access codes from their Parents/School Coordinators, when they add a child by signing in to their dashboard. Each access code is unique for a student, so it is important that Parents/Coordinators give their students an appropriate access code. A student can use the access code to sign in and see available contests. But they can only see a paid contest when their parents or school coordinator has completed the payment from their dashboard -> Contest registration. Access codes do carry over from one North Star Cup to the next as long as student has the same contest coordinator. This means students use a different access code when they switch school or change coordinator within the school or switch from an account opened by their parent to school's account or vice versa. An access code is different from a Coupon or Voucher Code. Make sure your access code is 10 characters long. See the Coupons and Vouchers page for information about redeeming your coupon for discount or fee waiver.

Usually, a student will be given their Access Code by their School Coordinator (teacher organizing the contests). If a student is not participating with a school, they can obtain an Access Code when their parents add the child from their dashboard. Access codes are emailed immediately to the School Coordinator or Parent when they add a child/student.
