Estimation Station

Estimation Station shows a calculation and a number line with labelled ends. You drag a marker to where you believe the answer falls and lock it in. There is no multiple choice and no keypad: the only way to answer is to judge the size of the result. Each round gives you several calculations, and the game scores how close each marker was rather than marking it right or wrong.

Closeness is what pays. Land inside the tolerance band around the true value and you take full credit for that prompt; drift further and the score tapers off with distance. Clear the level by keeping your average closeness above the pass mark, so one wild guess can be absorbed by a run of good ones. The calculations mix addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, square roots and fraction sums, so the skill being trained is judging magnitude across all of them.

This is the game for a student who can compute accurately but has no feel for whether an answer is sensible — the one who writes 4.2 x 19 = 79.8 and, on another day, 798, without noticing anything is wrong. Estimation is the check that catches that, and it is the single most useful habit in competition math.
